I Didn’t Need to Change—My Gear Did.
I grew up in Boston, played field hockey at Dartmouth College, and I'm currently a student at Harvard University earning my Master’s in Design Engineering.
Growing up with three older brothers, sports were always part of my life. Feeling confident in what I wore? Not so much. I quit dance, found field hockey, and spent years awkwardly wearing two sports bras at a time just to feel remotely supported.
I questioned whether my short height and larger chest were built for sports—when really, I should have been asking if there was gear built for athletes like me.
The Team Every Athlete Deserves
Growing into our bodies as female athletes is crazy enough without trying to navigate gear.
As athletes, we have an especially unique relationship with our bodies—they help us move and compete. The least our gear can do is keep up with us.
